I read an article about the Purple Sweet Potato which interest me a lot.
While these PSP is cheap and easily available, not many know that it will be the next superfood. It is known (except moa) to many that it will lower the risk of cancer and might even slow down certain type of disease due to the potato's color which contained a chemical call anthocyanin. The color department is responsible for the amount of anthocyanin in the potato, this pigment will slow down the growth of cancerous cell and scientists have been using two strands of anthocyanin to treat colon cancer. Anthocyanin also can be found in blueberries, red grapes and red cabbage but only the purple sweet potato is found to have higher concentration of the chemical.
Well, since these potatoes is not expensive and taste good and is filling... no harm giving it a try.
And I heard this high fiber food is also antioxidant...
How cool is that!
